1) Long charging time
full electric mining trucks charge 4.50kwh per minute on average, and the charging time is about 1.5h. A 24-hour operation requires 3 to 4 charging times, and the daily charging time is 4.5 to 6h. The long charging time affects the work efficiency.
The battery capacity of the full electric wide-body truck is 500kwh. It needs to be charged 4 times during the day and night double shift operation, which takes up production time. It is pulled about 35 times a day, which is about 87.5% of the production efficiency of fuel mining trucks; if the same production capacity is achieved, the number of full electric mining trucks is 14% more than that of fuel mining trucks.
2) Limited endurance
The full electric wide-body truck has limited power. When the SOC is lower than 20%, it needs to be charged. According to the actual situation, the day shift can use the lunch time to charge the electric mining truck; the night shift cannot meet the needs of the whole night shift operation, and it needs to be charged at least once during the operation.
3) Lack of winter operation data
The data collection period is from July to September, and the discharge of the power battery is not affected by the temperature. The actual stripping completion date is generally December, and the winter temperature can be as low as -30℃, which is extremely cold. At present, there is a lack of winter trial operation data, and it is impossible to further analyze the operating performance of full electric mining dump truck in severe winter weather.
4) The degree of battery attenuation is unknown
Since full electric mining dump truck are currently basically in the promotion stage (2019), they have not been widely used in the market, and the trial time is also short. It is impossible to judge the attenuation of the internal battery cells as the power battery increases with the use time, and it is impossible to clarify the service life and replacement cycle of the power battery.
5) Low residual value of truck
According to the frequency of vehicle replacement in domestic coal mining areas, fuel wide-body dump truck can be resold at a low price and replaced with a batch of new truck after 3 years of use; while full electric wide-body dump truck have not yet been popularized. For example, electric mining vehicle manufacturers have no replacement policy. After exceeding the prescribed service life, the old truck can only be scrapped, and the residual value of the truck is too low.
Current Status of full electric Wide-Body Vehicle Market
full electric wide-body dump truck have good energy-saving effects in high-altitude mountainous areas and heavy vehicle downhill conditions. The gravitational potential energy of the vehicle when fully loaded can be converted into electricity to charge the power battery. The vehicle's various performance and cost advantages are significantly better than fuel mining dump truck.
Sand and gravel mines in provinces south of the Yangtze River mostly adopt step-type mining methods, heavy-load downhill conditions and short transportation distances, which are ideal application manufacturers for electric mining dump truck. Ore transportation companies are particularly fond of electric wide-body dump truck.
China's open-pit coal mines are mainly distributed in Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Shanxi, and Yunnan. These areas are low in altitude and are mainly deep open-pit mines. Mine truck need to crawl from the bottom of the pit to the pit mouth. If the power is only provided by power batteries, it needs to have advantages such as low vehicle price and large power battery capacity and long life to grab a piece of the "cake" from the market share of traditional fuel truck.
